SYNOPSIS
In the American Midwest, a self-taught taxidermist builds “bald eagles” out of other birds’ parts. Created in the lead-up to America’s 250th anniversary, American Chimera uses this improbable act of construction to patiently explore how symbols, histories, and identities come into being through relationships between species, materials, sounds, myths, and acts of observation.
